Essential Things to Consider in Renting a Car

You may probably need to rent a car at some point of your life and you may need to know the basic information regarding car hiring. Car hiring is a popular way of providing transportation for people to travel a long trip with convenience and comfort. You may also have to know the car hire company that offers the best deal when it comes to car hire.

To avoid the hassle in doing car hire you should already have a checklist beforehand on what questions to inquire when making a reservation. This will clear out your expectations and liabilities and the company's assurance on the service that they will provide. The Internet which has the big help for people who wants to search something in an easy way could help you compare and find the car hire company that fits your need. Also with this, you can avoid costly mistakes and find out where to get the cheapest car hire deals.

In renting a car, you should know what's included in the price. Check if unlimited mileage, car insurance, and local taxes are already included or not. You may not be doing much driving in which case unlimited mileage may be unnecessary but insurances are a must and do add up.

In doing car hire, booking ahead is a must. To avoid hassles and inconvenience, its better to have your booking earlier. It is far better to have a reservation with a reference number so at least you know they will have a car waiting and if they don't have your requested car they will have to upgrade you for free. You also tend to get a better deal by booking ahead.

Always check the car appearance before picking up the car. It is important to check for the inner and outer appearance of the car. Keep in mind that companies could charge you for any damages such as bumps and scrapes that were there by the time you return the car. If any damages were present before you took the car, make a detailed check while the company representative is present. If you don't you may find that when you return the car they may blame (and charge) you.

Check everything before taking the car. When you are at the pick-up point you must check that everything matches your voucher. When you booked over the Internet or at a travel agent, you may have requested certain things such as extra drivers or extra seats and check if it really included. Even check you are getting the right sort of car you asked for! Do all of this before you sign all the paperwork.

Car Hire is the perfect way to explore the places you may want to visit. With so many interesting places to discover, a car hire is the most recommended and cost effective transport option. Happy driving.

Car Hire Vouchers Questions

London to The Cotswolds via Dover, Stonehenge and Bath. Where do I stay?

I am visiting from Australia for the first time. We have BandB vouchers.

My mum is keen to see Dover but ideally we want to base ourselves in the Cotswolds for the majority of our trip.

I want to know that when we hire our car in London is going to Dover, then on to Stonehenge, Bath and then up to probably Chipping Norton/Stratford on Avon 'doable' in two days of driving.

Where would you recommend having the night? (ie not in the Cotswolds but halfway or so along the trip.)

Also if you know what Cotswold village/town would you recommend? We are planning about 4 nights in this town using it as a base to look around the surrounding areas.

Any other advice is welcome.

Thanks a heap.

Plot your route on google maps - but allow lots of time. Due to congestion for example it can take 3hours + to drive to Dover from London even though its around 100km.

Logically it would be better to leave out Dover as this is East of London whereas all the other places are West. You could take the train for part of the journey too (say London - Dover/ Cantebury by train or London - Salisbury) and then pick up a car where you travel to

the route I would choose is

London - Dover (3 hour drive) (then stay overnight) - howver theres not a great deal to see in Dover beyond the castle, I would recommend also going to Canterbury which is about 20km away

Dover - Salisbury (around 4 hours and stay overnight in Salisbury) - Salisbury is worth a stop, beautiful cathedral and Stonehenge is around 15km from Salisbury.

Salisbury - Bath (around 1hour)

Bath - Cotswolds (around 1-2 hours depending on where you're going)

Either then stay in Bath (big beautiful city - lot of hotels etc, worth at least one day) or head up to the Cotswolds and stay in somewhere like Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water or Cheltenham. Stratford is easily reached from there (around 1-2 hours drive)

Other places I would recommend visiting include Cheltenham, Gloucester, the New Forest near Southampton, Portsmouth, Bristol, Herfordshire, other towns in Wiltshire - Devizes, Marlborough, Lacock, Malmesbury as well as Avebury and Silbury Hill

Do you agree with my stimulus plan?

1) Cut the income to politicians by 50%
2) A $5000 credit to any business that hires someone for at least 160 days
3) A tax cut for everyone earning under 100k a year of $15,000
4) A medical voucher for $3,000 for everyone that is unemployed or uninsured
5) A federal loan program for housing for service workers.
6) a moratorium on housing taxes for those buying a foreclosed home of 1 year.
7) no taxes paid on any new car bought.
8) tax any ceo, cfo, vp etc... that earned a bonus while working for a bailed out firm at 100%.

I think that everyone over the age of 18 should be given 500,000.00 to do as they please with. Go to college, buy a house, buy a new car. Where is the money coming from? Stop all foreign aid going out of the country ( billions every year) No more space program (billions every year) No more welfare ( billions every year) no student loans ( billions every year) end the war in Iraq ( billions every year) The list goes on and on. ALSO...everything should be made, sold and bought in this country. Everyone would go back to work and the country would prosper once again.
