Does anyone know if any hospitals hiring in the the New York area in administrated work?

I got my degree last year in medical administration and yet to get a job in a medical office or hospital.

It's getting so frustrating, i know especially in the medical field depending on what you do, you need to know someone but i see people with GED's getting the same jobs i went to college for (basically)

Since i have a car i can travel to upstate and all that, does anyone know any places i can start my search?

Thanks.

Hello Tamara:

Check your resume for spelling errors. If your qualifications show "administrated work", you need to change it to "administrative".

That said, you might want to list your education first on your resume, so that it grabs their eye when they look at it. Then add your list of qualifications, then your work experience.

You may want to register with some of the agencies in your area that cater to placements in the healthcare field. Many facilities now, have cut down their personnel office staffing and are relying on agencies to do their initial screenings. You can call any hospital or medical center and ask their HR person if they use a particular agency, then register with that agency to get them working on a job search for you. Private doctor's offices also use these, because it takes the headache out of the HR process for them, and the candidates come with a guarantee.

There are great jobs out there for people with your background and training. Take advantage of your school's placement office too, because that's what you paid them for also.

Best of luck in your search.
